In 2015, when we road my bike from Berlin to the other end of Germany, cruising through the Fläming was my favorite part of the tour. With its rolling hills, lush woods, meadows and grainfields, and between old castles and sleepy towns, the nature park Hoher Fläming is one of the most beautiful regions in Brandenburg. The following hikes are no exception.

The start of this trail is the bus stop Raben at the Naturparkzentrum Hoher Fläming. There are plenty of trail markers. Just follow the green wave and you won't get lost. Along the way you will find the old castle Rabenstein, rolling hills, birch groves, pinewoods, endless grainfields and meadows.

After hiking 7,6 km you will come across a big signpost, where the green wave meets up with the blue newt. From here on you follow the blue amphibian, which will guide you through the beautiful Planetal, towards a little town called Rädigke. The end of this trail is the bus stop Rädigke. The last bus will leave here at around 4 pm. Alternatively you could stay for two days and spend the night at the tiny campground in Rädigke.

The start and end of this loop trail is the bus stop in Rädigke.

The tour starts right behind the bus stop Rädigke. I suggest hiking the trail counterclockwise, starting the tour with the scenic Planetal first. Just follow the signs and the trail markers which will guide you along the hike.

Half way along the trail, in front of the Naturparkzentrum Hoher Fläming, you will find a nice resting area with a playground. You can get icecream there or at the medieval castle Rabenstein.
Leaving the castle behind, the trail passes an old linden tree and the falconry. It will take you past robinia trees – their white blossom swaying in the wind and their sweet scent following along. Beware of bees! We got chased down the trail by one angry beezilla.

After hours of walking your tired feet and lightened heart will be back at the bus stop in Rädigke. The last bus will leave here at around 4 pm. Alternatively you could stay for two days and spend the night at the tiny campground in Rädigke.
